SJS Financial Aid

Tuition assistance for St. John’s School families is available from resources provided by the Archdiocese of Washington (ADW), the Thomas Combs Fund, and the Monsignor Harris Scholarship Fund. The tuition assistance and scholarships are available on an annual basis to families who have a financial need. Parents are required to submit a single Private School Aid Service Form in order to qualify for the ADW Tuition Assistance program or either of the two Scholarship Funds.

For the 2011 – 2012 School Year, a total of $94,000 in tuition assistance and scholarship awards was available for distribution. Of this amount, $25,000 was made available from the Archdiocese of Washington, $54,000 was made available from the Combs Fund, and the remaining $15,000 came from the Monsignor Harris Fund. While the amount may vary from year to year dependent upon investment results and donations, it is anticipated that this generosity will continue for the foreseeable future. Adjudication of the individual familial award amounts is determined by the pastor and the principal, regardless of the tuition assistance/scholarship source.

The ADW offers tuition assistance grants to families with demonstrated financial need as determined by Private School Aid Service (PSAS). The application process consists of a single 4-page application to be filed by mail, fax or through the online application by December 2, 2011.

NOTE: SJS code is: 9798.
