The St. John’s School Advisory Board is comprised of 9 – 15 members who are appointed by the pastor in consultation with the principal and should reflect the diversity of the community. Membership includes representatives of the school community, the parish community, and others as needed with experience in education, finance, marketing, legal issues, fund raising, and/or organizational management.
The School Advisory Board provides advice to the pastor and principal on the development of goals and objectives for the school, the establishment of long- and short-term plans, formulation of school policies, the development and operation of programs appropriate for the St. John’s School community, the evaluation of school operations, and other topics as assigned by the pastor.
SAB Functions
Provide advice to pastor and principal for:
- The development of goals and objectives
- The establishment of long and short term plans
- The formulation of policies
- The development or revision of programs appropriate to the local school community (before school care, after school care, etc)
- The evaluation of the school’s progress in meeting goals

- Expertise/Interest in finance, marketing, legal issues, curricular issues, and organizational management

SAB Meetings
- 6 scheduled meetings per year (minimum)
- Ad-hoc meetings as necessary
- Preferably hold meetings on weeknights
- Meetings generally begin at 7pm
